We understand that many of our customers are concerned about the current taste and odor of their water, and we want you to know that we hear your concerns. We recognize how frustrating these conditions can be, and we sincerely appreciate your patience as we work through this unprecedented algae bloom and die off affecting Clear Lake.
Our team is working nonstop and doing absolutely everything possible to combat these extreme lake conditions. Every available treatment option is being utilized to improve water quality while continuing to ensure your water remains safe.
Please know that Your Water is Safe to drink, cook with, bath in, and utilize for everyday household use and continues to meet ALL California State Drinking Water Standards.
Our operators are continuously monitoring the treatment process, conducting water quality testing multiple times throughout the day, maintaining constant communication with the State Water Resources Control Board, and flushing the distribution system frequently to help improve water quality throughout our system.
These lake conditions have created one of the most difficult treatment challenges we have faced, but our commitment to our customers has not changed. We will continue working tirelessly, exploring every available solution, and doing everything within our power to improve the taste and odor of your water while never compromising its safety.
Your health and safety remain our highest priority. We will continue to provide updates as conditions change and appreciate your continued patience and understanding during this challenging time.
